How to create content that attracts new clients and candidates
In this webinar, we will talk about how to create content that gets you noticed and promotes your brand to attract new clients and candidates.
About 45% of LinkedIn readers are in upper-level positions (managers, VPs, Directors, C-level). 39% of LinkedIn users never share content, while 16% of the profiles actively share multiple posts weekly. In 2024 if you are not leveraging your social media to get new business you are wasting a huge market opportunity.

Since 2020 I’m actively helping great professionals find better jobs and different career paths with personalised coaching programs. That’s part of Talent Booster – where I share content regarding careers, not only here on LinkedIn but also on Instagram and Tik Tok. Half my time is still spent sourcing and market mapping for clients, I find this helps keep me focused on the tools and techniques that really work.

Practical online Strengths Workshop for research staff in executive search
Overview
Most people don’t know what their strengths are or how to put them to work. Based on the practical, research-underpinned Strengths Profile™, we will start to investigate what you do well and love to do. We will also consider strengths that you don’t enjoy and actually want to do less. And how to own the things that you are NOT good at.
Our aim is that you leave this session with 3 strengths-related personal goals to work on.
Being able to articulate your strengths will help you to unlock your full potential, perform better and make more informed career choices in the future.
Session outline
Before the session
All participants will be sent in advance of the session a link to a private, personal online workspace to use during the session (and afterwards as needed).
If you are happier completing the exercise using paper & pencil then that is fine!
In the session

- Why know your Strengths? Some practical applications for this exercise.

- Select a Weakness. Learn how to tackle it – or better still, ignore it! [we do not share Weaknesses].

- Introduction to Learned Behaviours (Strengths that drain your energy). Select one of yours to study in more detail.
- Share one of these with the group (if you want to) in the chat.

“Sourcing outside of LinkedIn”
Sourcing candidates is not limited to LinkedIn anymore or to job boards. The available human data is everywhere. You can find new names in groups and communities, on the attendee list of a meetup or a conference, within the networks of other people and so on. Many say: finding information is not anymore, a challenge in sourcing – well, this is partly true. The search part might have gotten easier… but processing data and working efficiently with all this information is a HUGE challenge nowadays.
Join us on this special class and learn about efficient scraping from Balazs!

Why do you HAVE TO step out of LinkedIn?
This is a topic that I’m much concerned about these days… people think they have to use something else than LinkedIn only in case of a candidate being not present on LinkedIn. However, the reality is that we only check the very max. 100 results on LinkedIn in a search and then we move on… but what if our top candidate was the 217th in the list? or on page 34? we will never find them!
Using Twitter or Github (etc.) gives us a chance to see and find candidates from a very different algorithm/angle. Let’s talk about this!

Hacking the human brain: neuroscientific principles reapplied to outreach messages
We are the unconscious slaves of our brains; we make decisions even before being conscious of it.
In this talk, Guillaume will dissect neuroscience, neuromarketing and behavioural economics and reapplying it to the engagement side of talent sourcing.
How is the human brain wired? Be aware of unconscious behaviours to trigger positive responses: Emotions, feelings and decisions are heavily linked, how to take advantage of it?
Ultimately, how should you shape your outreach messages to increase your response rate?
Cognitive biases can be both your worst enemy and your best friend, crack the code and push your engagement to the next level

Work Motivators for Research Staff in Executive Search
This one-hour workshop aims to:
– Reveal your key work motivators
– Assess whether your current role is providing these adequately
– Examine career pathways within search to see how well they fit your motivators
– Look at some case studies of people who have left search in order to find motivation elsewhere.
Session plan
1. Group discussion of and agreement to confidentiality within the session.
2. Fill in the John Lees ‘3-Minute Career Motivation Checklist’ (either before the session or in the first few minutes). Type our top three motivations as numbers into the group chat.
3. Look in detail at Carolyn’s Motivations results as a case study. Apply the findings to analysing our own responses, and notice any patterns as a group.
4. Reassess our checklists according to our current role (if time, discuss in pairs in a breakout room).
5. Look at the most common career pathways within search and think about how these meet certain motivators, using real examples from (anonymous) senior people in the industry.
6. Look at how two very different people have successfully left search in order to find work that reflects their motivations more accurately.

ERA Webinar with Vanessa Raath
Wednesday 1st July 2020 12pm-1pm BST
Searching outside of LinkedIn
Free for ERA Members
£50 for Non Members
Here is some information about my upcoming webinar:
Too many Researchers begin and end their searches in LinkedIn! This is a great time waster and puts you on the ‘back foot’ from the start of any research project.
I want to show you how you can save time, and money, by using LinkedIn as PART of your research project but not as the only social media platform that you gather information from. We will be looking at how we should be starting our searches on Google or Bing, as this will yield so many more results. We can then filter these results by adding more search parameters to our Boolean search string. Once we have identified the best talent, we also do not want to stop there by sending the candidate an in mail – and hoping they see it and respond to us.
To complete the research process, we need to leave LinkedIn again to find the email address and/or mobile number of these candidates. It is a proven fact that people are twice as likely to respond to an email and reply in up to 85% less time, compared to an in mail!
Let me teach you to be a better Researcher by identifying the best talent, more effectively and efficiently than your competitors.

ERA Roundtable event - The effects of COVID 19 on Executive Search
Wednesday 24th June 12pm-1pm BST
ERA Roundtable event – The effects of COVID-19 on Executive Research
The event is for Members and Non Members
Following the successful roundtable event for Members back in May looking at the impact of COVID-19 on the executive research and talent acquisition arena, we are now opening this up to non-members.
As we enter week 12 of lockdown, COVID-19 has swiftly made its impact on our health, the way we live, interact and how we work. After several weeks of lockdown and remote working, businesses are now grappling with how to move forward with the easing of lockdown, identifying and implementing new ways of working. As we evolve to adapt to the new “normal”, how is COVID-19 impacting the Executive Research and Talent Acquisition market? It may have caused significant challenge for the sector, but has it also created new opportunities and new ways of working? As an industry how can we adapt and support businesses, as well as each other moving forward?
This interactive roundtable event will give you the opportunity to engage with other Executive Research and Talent Acquisition members to understand how the Coronavirus has impacted others in the sector, as well as hear how talent companies and independents are adapting to the new world. We are keen to bring together those from different environments from corporate inhouse talent acquisition teams, through to executive search houses and independents to help shape a true picture of the landscape we now operate in.
The session, led by the ERA Committee, will pose the following topic headings and will give members the opportunity to share, discuss and listen to how the sector is evolving to this new environment. This sense check will also help to assist the ERA in understanding the challenges and opportunities the wider sector is facing and to help shape new training and support mechanisms moving forward.
To help people prepare for the session the topic headings will include:
- What have been the main impacts of COVID-19 to your business?
- How have you had to adapt to assist in engaging and identifying talent?
- What have been the challenges and what will be the challenges for your business in the future, (i.e. business travel, employees working remotely, freeze on recruitment, developing new ways of working and areas of focus)
- How have you adapted your technology? I.e. for interviews, meetings and engaging with candidates and clients? What have been the main technology challenges? What’s been working well for you?
- What training and support needs have you identified over the last few weeks that could be supported by the ERA?
We would love for those that join to actively participate in the discussion. If you would like to send through in advance any questions or topics for participation then please email sarah@theera.org who can incorporate them into the schedule, otherwise we will look forward to you joining the conversation on the 24th June.

ERA Webinar with Balazs Paroczay
Tuesday 2nd June 2020 – 1pm-2pm BST
ERA Webinar with Balazs Paroczay – Global Sourcing Strategist
“Your inner sourcing animal – and six other core research methods”
While the sourcing and recruiting industry is loudly screaming hosanna to every bit of new technology – there is too little being said about the science and art of research. It’s certainly great to have access to all these great tools, however, it is still humans that need to craft, initiate and control a search.
The most intelligent piece of technology is still our brain so let’s spend some time to hardwire our very own applications.
In this session Balazs shares those Seven Search Methods that he’s learnt from and sharpened together with various Sourcing Masters over the last 15 years.
He shares how he discovered his inner sourcing animal. He is a wolf. What is YOUR inner sourcing animal?
45 minute presentation followed by Q&A
Bio: Balazs Paroczay is a globally recognized Sourcing Leader, Keynote Speaker and Talent Acquisition Strategist. Over the last fifteen years, Balazs has been engaged with various global organizations helping them set up best-in-class sourcing functions and organization-wide sourcing capabilities. He excels at social networking and plays a significant role within the global sourcing communities as a sourcing thought leader, blogger and conference speaker (e.g. SourceCon, truLondon, European Sourcing Summit, UNLEASH, HRFEST etc.)

Bio
I took my first sourcing certification test in the late ’90s. At that time, I attended what was called a “computer school” and took a timed sourcing test on a computer with a dial-up connection to the internet.
I was the first external “Internet Recruiter,” as they were called at the time, hired by Microsoft in 2000. I have had the opportunity to work for Google, Amazon, Apple, Yahoo!, Starbucks, ADP, a few start-ups, and other great companies as a full-time employee and contractor during my career.
I have trained sourcing professionals and recruiters at various companies, and I am known as a sourcing expert, but I have also operated as a full-cycle recruiter. I have spoken at numerous conferences, including the HIREconf, Talent42, and I have been one of the highest-rated presenters at SourceCon. I was an invited speaker at the SourceCon All-Stars conference in March of 2016 in Orlando, FL. I have also led webinars on behalf of the ERE, CareerArc, Zapinfo, Hiretual, and others.
Additionally, I was a board member of the S7+ (Sourcing Seven) organization in Seattle, WA, for several years. I currently lead the Sun City Sourcing Society in the greater Phoenix, AZ area.
Most recently, I have held the role of Senior Sourcer, Talent Attraction, and Leadership at Indeed, and I have recently joined Salesforce as an Executive Sourcer.

In this webinar, candidate engagement authority Katrina Collier, will address:

- How to present yourself online so you look worthy of someone’s time and a response
- How to use tools to stand out from your competition
