‘Tools, Hype, and Hard Truths: Elevating Your Sourcing Game’ with Gabi Preston-Phypers
In a market flooded with “must-have” tools promising to revolutionise sourcing, it’s hard to know what’s truly game-changing and what’s just noise. This interactive session isn’t a sales pitch – it’s a chance for you and your peers to take a hard look at how you’re searching today, what’s working, and where frustrations lie.
We’ll explore:
- The right questions to ask when evaluating the latest sourcing tech.
- How to separate market hype from measurable reality.
- Smart ways to test new tools (and spot red flags).
- The million-dollar question: Do you actually need to switch, or is your existing tech perfectly capable – just poorly leveraged due to weak customer support and adoption?
Come ready to share your own experiences, challenges, and wins. You’ll leave with practical frameworks to cut through the noise, sharpen your sourcing capabilities, and make confident, cost-effective decisions about your toolkit.
Gabi Preston-Phypers
Bio: For the past five years I’ve dedicated myself to researching, testing, and trialling sourcing tools – not just the tech, but how real people use them. I’ve studied recruiter behaviour, audited processes, and partnered with organisations from start-ups to global corporates to separate hype from reality. My work has cut costs per hire in half, transformed pass-through rates, eliminated agency reliance, and rebuilt trust between recruiters and hiring managers.
Prior to this, I spent over a decade solving high-stakes problems across global finance, SaaS, and recruitment. At J.P. Morgan I rose to Vice President in seven years, leading crisis management for hedge-fund and asset-management clients across three continents. I went on to build new markets for a fintech start-up, then transformed operations in an agency role – tripling revenue in six months. That mix of pressure-tested problem solving and hands-on growth building is what underpins the practical, no-nonsense approach I now bring to companies to transform how they find talent.

ERA Webinar with David Thomas
Wednesday 8th October 2025 @ 12pm-1pm
Be a Presentation Rockstar with David Thomas.
‘How to get the attention of any audience inside 60 seconds’.
Attention span is dropping every year. Think about how quickly you scroll past a video on your phone if it doesn’t immediately deliver what you want. It is the same with the people in front of you when you present whether it is a 1-2-1 appraisal with a member of staff or talking to 10,000 people at a conference.
You have just 60 seconds to grab them by the scruff of their neck, interrupt their thinking, get their attention up to a 10 and keep it there.
In this session, David Thomas will show you how to do exactly that.
